I am a child of God

Cora knows she is a child of  God.

*our favorite part is when she says, "help you find a way" instead of "help me find the way."

december highlights

Although we stayed in Philly for the holidays while most of our family and friends went away, we were able to have lots of fun.

Cora was very proud of her door drawing.

We loved playing the nature center with these little girls.

We enjoyed making and eating lots of homemade food.

Can't forget the hours logged playing with the nativity and the advent calendar.

Playing finger puppets with daddy was fun.  Well, playing anything with Daddy is fun!

More friend time at the Arboretum to see the pretty winter landscape and train display.

Finally,  December ended with an Ikea ice cream cone as a reward for being so brave on our little trip to the ER.  Our little spaz-y girl gave herself a nursemaid's elbow and had to have it reduced at the hospital.    It is scary seeing your baby hurt and not knowing what is really wrong.  Luckily, a few minutes after her elbow was popped back into place, she was feeling better and the next day she was back to her crazy Coco self.  We are crossing our fingers so it doesn't slide out of place again!

holiday kick off

The past few weeks have flown by.  From DC to Boston, we've visited all of our east coast family.  Thanks for putting up with us.  We really do love spending time with you all.  (I only pulled out the camera twice during the past few weeks.  The pictures below are from the day we visited the Public Gardens downtown Boston.)

two little kittens lost their mittens

It's a matching set!  With the knitting book on one knee and the laptop open to google on the other knee, it's a small miracle, but I knitted mittens for Cora.

Now I just need another small miracle to get her to put on some pants.

our little devil

Cora loved halloween.  She dressed up as a devil.  It was my costume when I was little.  Thanks for making it for me 20+ years ago, Mom.

Check out those blue eyes.

Cape Action.

Very serious about the games.

Nice flames.  Too bad the glow in the dark parts no longer glow.

She was so big and walked the catwalk for the Halloween Runway Show, but at the end she felt that she needed to re-enter the stage and do some funny motions shown above.

Our Halloween Family plus John.  haha.

back to school and gift

Ryan's back to school, not that he was out of school for very long.  I'm not sure if we're just used to him being gone so much or if he does have a tad more free time, but it's been a nice 3 week start to the new school year.

Cora gave us a nice back to school gift.  She's potty trained.  I'm thrilled!  I think we hit the exact perfect timing for her readiness because it wasn't like running a potty training bootcamp, it was more like a natural milestone in her progression.

Here she is in her potty glory and on one of our accident-free (and pantless) outings.

whoop-dee-doo cora's two

we had a pre-birthday party in philly before we left out of town.  i made her a tres leches cake.  she had a blast playing duck duck goose and dancing to yo gabba gabba with some friends.

we were staying at liesl's on her actual birthday and she threw a surprise birthday lunch for cora.  ever since cora spontaneously says,"SURPRISE."  I think she has good memories from that event.

i'm sure cora felt super special on both days.  i think she is super special.  i love this age.

they sure grow up fast

Cora, 25 months
29.5 lbs
35 inches

Cora has totally reached her terrible, yet terrific, twos! She loves jumping, running, swimming, sliding, swinging, counting, singing, 'reading', playing with cousins and friends, and she especially loves driving us crazy around the apt. We love this little two year old.
