play play play

Ryan's internship is finished! Time to play. We have gone on a few little excursions that have been fun. I have hardly taken any pictures (that is if I even remembered to take the camera with us)....I guess we were having too much fun.

These two were taken at the "Berry Festival" in Amish Country near Lancaster. Ryan is eating the special cookie of the weekend: the Jam Thumbprint. It was yum. Although it's been cloudy and on and off rainy, but we managed to get a picnic in.

Cora now loves standing. She even has taken two unassisted steps. I love to see her learning and growing. I love her new summer PJs. I keep her in them all day cause her bum is so cute.

All the toys in the world do not compare to two pot lids and some string. She sure knows a little about playing hard.

We took our chance at swimming with the rain clouds overhead. Cora LOVED it. She looked like a old pro out there.

My other video wouldn't upload, so this is what you get.

one too many....

We've had a few too many rainy days. Seriously, it's been a long time. I need some sunshine.

I finally got sick of youtube-ing Baby Einstein and bought one. I like the extra snuggling.

Cora pulled the books off the bookcase for the 15 kizillionth time, so I just stuck them in a box.

I've read The Very Hungry Catepillar, Planting A Garden, The Three Bears, ALL of the mini Sesame Street Books, and others so many times that I start "reading" them before I actually pick it up. Time to go to the library.

Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow.

Woah Nelly

I was trying to get ready yesterday morning to go to Cora's well child check up, but Cora would not give me 10 seconds to do anything.  She kept climbing up my legs and bugging me like crazy.  I was wearing stretchy lounge pants and she repeatedly kept pulling on the pant legs until they came down several times.  Funny, I know, but at the time I was so annoyed.  I picked her up and sat her down at the farthest point in the bedroom and I ran to the bathroom and shut the door like I was outsmarting her.  Two second later she was at the door pounding on it.  At that point I just started laughing.  Later that day, she unsorted all the dirty laundry, unfolded and and threw all the clean laundry all over the place, pulled out the tiny baby clothes that I was putting away, and pretty much just followed me around the house tearing apart everything that I did.  It was a very unproductive and slightly annoying day.  Just thinking about it now makes me laugh.  She looked pretty funny throwing all of that laundry over her head behind her.

So for her well child check up:  She is now 20 lbs (49%), 28 inches long (40%), and head circumference of 17.5 inches (45%).  Right on track.  She has hit all of the typical milestones plus some.  Way to go baby.

It has been so nice having Ryan gone from only 7am to 5pm.  It is like a sneak peak into the future.  So far he really likes his internship downtown in the projects.  Maybe he'll more down there in the future.

I have been pretty much just trying to keep up with our very active little girl.  Seriously, I have to be so careful watching her because she gets into EVERYTHING.  Our tv stand was a serious safety hazard, so we bought a cheap heavy dresser at a garage sale to replace it.  After painting it, I think I like it.  Cora can't open the drawers and there is no chance that she could tip it over.  Goal accomplished.
